When I first started to play World of Warcraft, it didn't take me very long to learn that you have to buy wow gold for the needed currency, copper, silver, or gold, to get the items you wanted.
Right outside of the starting point for the Horde Undead characters, is a town called Brill. Here, new players will see a stable with some of the coolest mounts – blue, green, and red skeletal horses and a green and a purple warhorse. Oh, they are to die for – and they cost a lot. Plus, you need training for your character to be able to ride them.
To a new or broke player, 40 gold is more than you can imagine. And, it seems like it will take forever to earn it. I headed out to try and earn the money I needed to buy one of these cool mounts. I leveled pretty quickly, and soon I was at 35, only 5 levels to go until I could get my mount. But, I was broke, terribly broke. I had no idea how to get the money I would need for my mount.
I had noticed that there were players that were my level and higher that seemed to always have a ton of gold. They had those sweet mounts I wanted, they had some of the most awesome weapons and armor that I had seen, and it seemed that they would just give money to those who needed it. I wanted to know how they did it.
So, I started talking to a couple of them and became friends with them. They told me about certain areas of the game where you can grind for some great loot and some good money. In these areas, there were blue and purple items dropped, as well as some epic items that would sell for over 200 gold each.
They also told me how to work the auction house, and where to go to download some great addons that would help me find what I needed on the AH quickly and get the best prices on it. They gave me tips, cheats, and some great information on where to go and what to do to earn tons of gold and have those things I wanted for my character.
It wasn't long and I had learned their secrets.
So, I put those secrets to work for me. I grinded where they said, looted where they told me was great, and they were right! It didn't take long and I was swimming in gold. At level 46, I had three different mounts, all blue armor, all blue weapons, some awesome trinkets, rings, and necklaces, and I had all the spells and training I wanted. No more having to scrimp and scrounge to get the training I needed to buy gold for wow in order to get my character advance. No more running on foot everywhere.
